পুলিশ ও স্থানীয়রা দৈনিক ডাককে জানান, গতকাল শুক্রবার সন্ধ্যায় জয়পুরহাট সদর উপজেলার আমদই ইউনিয়নের পলিকাদোয়া গ্রামে বাড়ির ড্রেনের পানি যাওয়াকে কেন্দ্র করে প্রতিপক্ষের লাাঠির আঘাতে রেজাউল (৪৫), ও মোহাম্মদ আলমের মধ্যে বাড়ির পানির ড্রেন দেওয়াকে কেন্দ্র করে উভয়ের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষ হয়। এক পর্যায়ে আলমের লাঠির আঘাতে রেজাউল ইসলাম গুরুতর জখম হয়।
পরে স্থানীয়রা তাকে উদ্ধার করে প্রথমে জয়পুরহাট আধুনিক জেলা হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করে। সেখানে তার অবস্থার অবনতি হলে বগুড়া জিয়াউর রহমান মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতাল বগুড়ায় ভর্তি করা হয়। সেখানে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় আজ শনিবার সকালে তার মৃত্যু হয়।
