স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণজয়ন্তীতে ধ্বংসাত্মক তৎপরতা চালানোয় হেফাজতে ইসলামের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর অবস্থান নিয়েছে সরকার। ইতোমধ্যে ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে ঘটনায় জড়িতদের গ্রেফতারে অভিযান শুরু হয়েছে।
দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে তাণ্ডব ও ধ্বংসাত্মক ঘটনার দায়ে হেফাজতে ইসলামের শীর্ষ নেতাদের বিরুদ্ধেও ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণজয়ন্তীর অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দিতে ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদীর বাংলাদেশ সফরের বিরোধিতা করে ২৬ মার্চে এবং তার পর কয়েক দিন ধরে চট্টগ্রাম, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া, নারায়ণগঞ্জ, ঢাকাসহ বিভিন্ন স্থানে হেফাজতের কর্মসূচি থেকে ব্যাপক তাণ্ডব চালানো হয় এবং সহিংসতার ঘটনা ঘটে। সেই সময় হেফাজতের নেতাকর্মীরা সরকারি অফিসসহ বিভিন্ন স্থাপনায় আগুন দেন এবং ধ্বংসাত্মক তৎপরতায় লিপ্ত হন। হেফাজতের নেতাকর্মীরা জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের মুরালসহ বিভিন্ন স্থাপনায় হামলা, ভাঙচুর ও অগ্নিসংযোগ করেন। রেললাইন, রেলস্টেশন, ভূমি অফিসসহ সরকারি বিভিন্ন অফিস, থানায় হামলা ও অস্ত্র লুট, ইউএনও অফিস, আওয়ামী লীগ অফিস, বাড়িঘর কোনো কিছুই হামলা, ভাঙচুর, অগ্নিসংযোগ থেকে বাদ পড়েনি।
সরকারের সংশ্লিষ্ট একাধিক সূত্র জানায়, এই সব ঘটনার ভিডিও ফুটেজ রয়েছে সরকার ও প্রশাসনের হাতে। এই ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে জড়িতদের গ্রেফতার অভিযান শুরু করা হয়েছে। ইতোমধ্যেই কিছু সংখ্যক নেতাকর্মীকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়েছে। এসব ধ্বংসাত্মক ঘটনায় অর্ধশতধিক মামলা হয়েছে হেফাজতের নেতাকর্মীদের বিরুদ্ধে। এছাড়াও ২০১৩ সালের ৫ মে রাজধানীর মতিঝিলের শাপলা চত্বরে হেফাজত অবস্থান নিয়ে যে তাণ্ডব চালায় তারও মামলা রয়েছে। সেই মামলাগুলোও সক্রিয় করে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।
ধ্বংসযজ্ঞে সরাসরি যারা জড়িত এবং যারা নেতৃত্ব ও নির্দেশ দিয়েছন তাদের প্রত্যেকের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেবে সরকার। এই প্রক্রিয়া থেকে হেফাজতের শীর্ষ নেতাও বাদ পড়বেন না। তাদেরও গ্রেফতার করে আইনের আওতায় আনা হতে পারে বলে সূত্রগুলো জানায়।
গত বছর হেফাজতে ইসলামের আমির আহমদ শফীকে মানসিকভাবে নির্যাতন করে হত্যা করা হয়েছে বলে অভিযোগ করে তার পরিবার। তাকে পরিকল্পিতভাবে হত্যা করার অভিযোগে পরিবারের পক্ষ থেকে হেফাজতের শীর্ষ নেতাদের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা করা হয়। সেই মামলায়ও হেফাজতের শীর্ষ নেতারা ফেঁসে যেতে পারেন।
সরকার ও আওয়ামী লীগের নীতিনির্ধারণী পর্যায়ের একাধিক নেতার সঙ্গে কথা বলে জানা যায়, সরকার ও আওয়ামী লীগ হেফাজতে ইসলামের বিষয়ে অনেকটাই নমনীয় ছিলো। বিভিন্ন সময় তাদের কিছু দাবি-দাওয়া মেনে নেওয়া হয়েছে। কিন্তু গত বছর হেফাজত ঢাকায় বঙ্গবন্ধুর ভাস্কর্য স্থাপনের বিরোধিতা করে এবং কুষ্টিয়াতে বঙ্গবন্ধুর ভাস্কর্য ভাঙচুর করে। বঙ্গবন্ধুর ভাস্কর্য টেনেহিঁচড়ে নদীতে ফেলে দেওয়ার মতো ঔদ্ধত্যপূর্ণ হুমকি দেন হেফাজতের নেতারা। এর পর সুনামগঞ্জের শাল্লায় হিন্দু ধর্মালম্বীদের বাড়িঘর ও মন্দিরে ভাঙচুর করা হয়।
স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণজয়ন্তীতে হেফাজত কর্মসূচি দিয়ে তাণ্ডব চালায়। এসব ঘটনা ঘটিয়ে হেফাজত রাষ্ট্রের ও মহান স্বাধীনতার বিরুদ্ধে চ্যালেঞ্জ ছুড়ে দিয়েছে বলে সরকার ও আওয়ামী লীগ মনে করছে। এ বিষয়গুলোকে সরকার আর স্বাভাবিকভাবে দেখছে না। এ ধরনের ঘটনার পর হেফাজতের বিরুদ্ধে ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া না হলে ভবিষ্যতে তারা আরও অগ্রসর হবে বলে আওয়ামী লীগের নেতারা মনে করছেন। তাই আইনি প্রক্রিয়ার মাধ্যমেই তাদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ব্যবস্থার সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে, যাতে ভবিষ্যতে এ ধরনের ঘটনা ঘটাতে না পারে।
গত ১৩ এপ্রিল আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের বলেন, যারা ধর্মের নামে স্বার্থ হাসিলের নোংরা রাজনীতি করছে এবং সম্পদ নষ্ট করছে, ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে সুনির্দিষ্ট অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে তাদের ধরা হচ্ছে।
এর আগে গত ৪ এপ্রিল জাতীয় সংসদের অধিবেশনে স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী আসাদুজ্জামান খান কামালও বলেছিলেন ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে তাণ্ডবে জড়িতদের বিরুদ্ধে কঠোর ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে
