পাকিস্তানের পেট্রোকেমিক্যাল খাতে বিপুল পরিমাণ অর্থ বিনিয়োগ করবে চীন। পাকিস্তানের বন্দর নগরী গোয়াদার থেকে চীন পর্যন্ত সুদীর্ঘ একটি জ্বালানি পাইপলাইন তৈরির প্রকল্পও অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকছে। রোববার পাকিস্তানের সরকারি বার্তা সংস্থা এপিপি এসব তথ্য জানিয়েছে।
পাকিস্তান বিনিয়োগ বোর্ডের সচিব ফারীহা মাজহারের বরাত দিয়ে খবরে বলা হয়, পাকিস্তানে চীনের বিভিন্ন প্রতিষ্ঠান পেট্রোকেমিক্যাল খাতে ১৫ বিলিয়ন (১ হাজার ৫০০ কোটি) বিনিয়োগ করবে। পাকিস্তানে চীনা বিনিয়োগ সংক্রান্ত বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প নিয়ে দ্বিপাক্ষিক আলোচনা চলছে। চীনা প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো পাকিস্তানে জ্বালানির পাশাপাশি কৃষি, পর্যটনসহ অন্যান্য খাতেও বিনিয়োগ করবে বলে আশাবাদী মুসলিম বিশ্বের একমাত্র পরমাণু শক্তিধর পাকিস্তান।
তবে এসব বিনিয়োগ চীন-পাকিস্তান অর্থনৈতিক করিডোর (সিপিইসি) প্রকল্পের অংশ কি না তা এখনো নিশ্চিত নয়। সিপিইসির অধীনে পাকিস্তানে ছয় হাজার কোটি ডলারের বেশি ব্যয়ে বিভিন্ন উন্নমূলক কাজ করছে চীন।
চীনের সিপিইসি প্রকল্পের অন্যতম গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ পাকিস্তানের গোয়াদার বন্দর। দুই দেশের মধ্যে তেল-গ্যাস সরবরাহ পাইপলাইনের শেকড় ওই বন্দরে। তবে ওই পাইপলাইনটির একটি অংশ পাকিস্তানশাসিত কাশ্মীরের ভেতর দিয়ে যাওয়ায় তা নিয়ে আপত্তি রয়েছে ভারতের।
