দিনাজপুর জেলার বিরামপুর থানা পুলিশ মাদক বিরোধী অভিযান চালিয়ে ১১০ পিচ ইয়াবা ট্যাবলেট, ৫ বোতল ভারতীয় এমকেডিলসহ সরোয়ার হোসেন (৩৫) নামে এক মাদক ব্যবসায়ীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে।
মামলা সুত্রে জানা যায়, শনিবার (১৮ সেপ্টেম্বর) দিবাগত রাত সোয়া বারো টায় গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে বিরামপুর থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) সুমন কুমার মহন্তের নির্দেশে এসআই নিহার রঞ্জনের নেতৃত্বে সর্ঙ্গীয় ফোর্স বিরামপুর উপজেলার দক্ষিণ কাটলা গ্রামে মাদক বিরোধী অভিযান চালান। এসময় ১১০ পিচ ইয়াবা ট্যাবলেট, ৫ বোতল ভারতীয় আমদানি নিষিদ্ধ এমকেডিলসহ সরোয়ার হোসেন (২৬) নামে এক মাদক ব্যবসায়ীকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়।
গ্রেফতারকৃত মাদক ব্যবসায়ী সরোয়ার হোসেন বিরামপুর উপজেলার ২নং কাটলা ইউনিয়নের দক্ষিণ কাটলা গ্রামের রমজান আলীর ছেলে।
এবিষয়ে বিরামপুর থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ (ওসি) সুমন কুমার মহন্ত ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেন জানান, এই ঘটনায় বিরামপুর থানায় ৩৬ (১) এর ১০ (ক)/১৪ (ক) মাদকদ্রব্য নিয়ন্ত্রণ আইন ২০১৮ইং ধারায় মামলা হয়েছে। মামলা নং-২৫, তাং ১৯/০৯/২০২১ইং।
রবিবার (১৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) সকালে গ্রেপ্তারকৃত আসামী সরোয়ার হোসেন (৩৫) কে দিনাজপুর বিজ্ঞ আদালতে প্রেরন করা হয়েছে।
তিনি আরো জানান, বিরামপুর উপজেলাকে মাদকমুক্ত করতে মাদক বিরোধী অভিযান অব্যাহত থাকবে।
