দিনাজপুরের বীরগঞ্জ থানার অফিসার ইনচার্জ আব্দুল মতিন প্রধান জুয়া খেলার গোপন সংবাদ পেয়ে নির্দ্দেশে দিলে ওসি তদন্ত সোহেল রানা, এসআই আকবর আলী সহ পুলিশের একটি টিম ১৮ সেপ্টেম্বর শুক্রবার সকাল ১২টায় ঢাকা-পঞ্চগড় মসাসড়কের ধারে উপজেলার ভোগনগর ইউনিয়নের কবিরাজহাট এলাকার চাউলিয়া গ্রামের নজরুল ইসলামের পুত্র মিল মালিক আব্দুল লতিফ মনজু (৫৫) হাস্কিং মিল ইমরান ইন্ডাট্রিজ এর গোডাউনে জুয়া খেলা অবস্থায় মনজু সহ আটক করে।
অন্যান্যরা হলেন একই ইউনিয়নের কালাপুকুর গ্রামের মৃত রমিজ উদ্দিনের পুত্র আব্দুল কুদ্দুস (৫০), সাতোর ইউনিয়নের ডাকেশ্বরী ঘোসপাড়া গ্রামের মৃত কেতারাম ঘোসের পুত্র অমুল্য ঘোস (৬০) ও আনিছারের পুত্র হোসেন আলী (৪০)। এসআই আকবর আলী জানায়, তাদের ৪ জনের বিরুদ্ধে জুয়া আইনে মামলা হয়েছে।
