বান্দরবান সদর উপজেলায় সুইসাইড নোট লিখে জুরেন ত্রিপুরা (৪০) নামে এক যুবক গলায় ফাঁস দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করেছে।
শনিবার (১৮ সেপ্টেম্বর) উপজেলার মিলনছড়ি পুলিশ ক্যাম্প সংলগ্ন বান্দরবান সদর ইউনিয়নের ৩নং ওর্য়াড ছাইঙ্গ্যা ত্রিপুরা পাড়ায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহত জুরেন ত্রিপুরা (৪০) ওই এলাকার অবিচন্দ্র ত্রিপুরার ছেলে ।
নিহত জুরেন ত্রিপুরার স্ত্রী বিবিনি ত্রিপুরা (২৩) বলেন, ভোরে উঠে বিছানায় দেখতে না পেয়ে খোঁজাখুজি করতে থাকি আমার স্বামীকে। খোঁজাখুজি এক পর্যায়ে স্থানীয়রাসহ পার্শ্ববর্তী ঝিড়িতে গলায় গামছা পেঁচিয়ে ঝুলন্ত অবস্থায় জুরেনের লাশ আমরা দেখতে পায়। পরে সদর থানায় পুলিশকে খবর দিলে ঘটনাস্থলে এসে লাশটি উদ্ধার করেন।
বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে বান্দরবান সদর থানার দায়িত্বরত পরিদর্শক (তদন্ত) এসআই গোবিন্দ কুমার শর্মা জানান, যুবকটির আত্মহত্যার খবর পেয়ে ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে লাশটি উদ্ধার করে বান্দরবান সদর হাসপাতালে মর্গে প্রেরণ করা হয়েছে।
এ সময় তার বাসা থেকে ডাইরিতে লেখা একটি চিরকুট উদ্ধার করেছে পুলিশ। সেই চিরকুটে লেখা ছিল, ‘আমি জুরেন আমি আসলে কিছু নয় তোমরা জার্জ ভেবেছ তা নয় অমি সত্য বলে দিয়ে য়া।’ আইনি প্রক্রিয়া শেষে লাশ স্বজনদের নিকট হস্তান্তর করা হবে।
