ইসরায়েলি পুলিশের গুলিতে এক ফিলিস্তিনি নিহতের ঘটনা ঘটেছে।
শুক্রবার জেরুজালেমের ওল্ড সিটিতে এই ঘটনা ঘটে। তবে ইসরায়েলি পুলিশের অভিযোগ, ঐ ব্যক্তি ছুরি নিয়ে তাদের উপর হামলার চেষ্টা করেছিল। রয়টার্সের এক প্রতিবেদনে এমনটি বলা হয়।
নিহত ওই ব্যক্তি পূর্ব জেরুজালেমের একটি হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসক হিসেবে কর্মরত ছিলেন। ইসরায়েলের কারাগার থেকে পালিয়ে আসা বন্দিদের সমর্থনে এদিন আল আকসা মসজিদ প্রাঙ্গনে কয়েক হাজার ফিলিস্তিনি সমবেত হয়ে বিক্ষোভ করছিল।
তাদের অভিযোগ, ওই বন্দিদের ধরতে তাদের স্বজনদের গ্রেপ্তার ও নির্যাতন করছে দেশটির পুলিশ। এরই মধ্যে পালিয়ে যাওয়া দুই বন্দিকে ধরতে সক্ষমও হয়েছে নিরাপত্তা বাহিনী। এদিকে, শুক্রবার বিকেলে ইসরায়েলে রকেট হামলা চালায় হামাস। এর বিরুদ্ধে শনিবার গাজায় হামাসের স্থাপনায় বিমান হামলা চালিয়েছে ইসরায়েল।
