কুমিল্লার লাকসামে নুসরাত জাহান ঝিনুক (১৭) নামের এক স্কুলছাত্রী আত্মহত্যা করেছে।
বৃহস্পতিবার সন্ধ্যায় উপজেলা সিংজোড় বেড়িবাঁধ এলাকায় নিজ ঘরে গলায় ফাঁস দেয় সে।
নুসরাত পৌরশহরে আল আমিন ইন্সটিটিউট স্কুলের এসএসসি পরীক্ষার্থী ছিল।
পরিবার প্রেমের সম্পর্ক মেনে না নেওয়ায় নুসরাত আত্মহত্যা করেছে বলে স্থানীয়দের অভিযোগ।
স্থানীয় ও পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা যায়, লাকসাম উপজেলার কান্দিরপাড়া ইউনিয়ন সিংজোড় বেড়িবাঁধ এলাকার বাসিন্দা বাবু মিয়ার বড় মেয়ে নুসরাত জাহান ঝিনুকের সঙ্গে পাশের বাড়ির এক ছেলের দীর্ঘদিনের প্রেমের সম্পর্ক। এ সম্পর্ক মানতে রাজি নয় নুসরাতের বাবা-মা।
এ নিয়ে তারা নুসরাতকে মারধর করতেন। তা সত্ত্বেও প্রেমিকের সঙ্গে দেখা করত সে। বিষয়টি নিয়ে বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে বাবা-মায়ের সঙ্গে নুসরাতের কথা কাটাকাটি হয়।
পরে সে এসএসসি পরীক্ষার অ্যাসাইনমেন্ট জমা দেওয়ার কথা বলে টাকা নিয়ে স্কুলে যায়। বিকালে বাড়িতে এসে নিজ ঘরের দরজা বন্ধ করে গলায় ফাঁস দেয় সে।
সন্ধ্যা হলে নুসরাতের মা দরজা বন্ধ দেখে ডাকাডাকি করে নুসরাতকে। তার কোনো সাড়া না পেয়ে বাড়ির লোকজন দরজা ভেঙে নুসরাতকে ঝুলন্ত অবস্থায় দেখতে পায়। এরপর থানায় খবর দিলে পুলিশ এসে লাশ উদ্ধার করে।
লাকসাম থানার ওসি মেজবাহ উদ্দিন ভুইয়া বলেন, স্কুলছাত্রীর লাশ উদ্ধার করে মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে। ময়নাতদন্তের রিপোর্ট পেলে বিস্তারিত বলা যাবে। এ ঘটনায় থানায় একটি অপমৃত্যু মামলা হয়েছে।
