নতুন নিয়মে বাংলাদেশ পুলিশে কনস্টেবল পদে নিয়োগ সংক্রান্ত বিষয় অবহিতকরণের জন্য ফরিদপুর জেলার বোয়ালমারীতে এক প্রেস ব্রিফিং অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। বুধবার (২৫ আগস্ট) বেলা সাড়ে ১১টার দিকে বোয়ালমারী থানার একটি কক্ষে এই সংবাদ সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
ফরিদপুরের অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার (অপরাধ ও তদন্ত) মো. জামাল পাশা তার বক্তব্যে জানান, পুলিশের ইন্সপেক্টর জেনারেল ড. বেনজীর আহমেদের প্রত্যক্ষ নির্দেশনা ও তত্ত্বাবধানে সর্বোচ্চ স্বচ্ছতার মাধ্যমে যোগ্য প্রার্থী নির্বাচনে নতুন নিয়ম ও পদ্ধতির প্রবর্তন করা হয়েছে। এতে সাতটি ধাপ অতিক্রম করার পরেই নিয়োগ চুড়ান্ত হবে। এই সাতটি ধাপ হলো–প্রিলিমিনারি স্ক্রিনিং, শারীরিক মাপ ও সক্ষমতা যাচাই, লিখিত পরীক্ষা, মনস্তাত্ত্বিক ও মৌখিক পরীক্ষা, প্রাথমিক নির্বাচন, পুলিশ ভেরিফিকেশন ও স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা এবং চূড়ান্তভাবে প্রশিক্ষণে অন্তর্ভূক্তকরণ।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে ১৫ মিনিটের একটি ভিডিও প্রেজেন্টেশনের মাধ্যমে নিয়োগ পরীক্ষার সাতটি ধাপ দেখানো হয়। আগ্রহী প্রার্থীদের সক্ষমতা অর্জনের জন্য আগে থেকেই অনুশীলন করে এগিয়ে থাকারও পরামর্শ দেয়া হয়।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে উপস্থিত ছিলেন বোয়ালমারী উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান এবং উপজেলা আওয়ামীলীগের সভাপতি এম এম মোশাররফ হোসেন মুশা মিয়া।
অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার (অপরাধ ও তদন্ত) মো. জামাল পাশা এসময় প্রতারক ও দালালদের ব্যাপারে সচেতন থাকতে সকলকে অনুরোধ জানিয়ে বলেন, কোন দালাল কিংবা প্রতারক চক্র যাতে চাকরি প্রার্থীদের নিকট হতে প্রতারণা করে চাকিরি পাইয়ে দেয়ার নাম করে টাকা পয়সা হাতিয়ে নিতে না পারে, সেজন্য জেলা পুলিশ কঠোর মনিটরিং করবে। গোয়েন্দা তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে দালাল প্রতারক কিংবা অসদুপায় অবলম্বনকারী চক্রের বিরুদ্ধে তথ্য সংগ্রহ করে কঠোর আইনানুগ ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে। বিভিন্ন ইউনিয়নের ব্যস্ত এলাকা, কলেজ, থানা ও ফাঁড়ির মাধ্যমে এবং অন্যান্য প্রচার মাধ্যম ব্যবহার করে এ ব্যাপারে সচেতনতা তৈরি করা হবে।
এ সময় অন্যান্যের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন সাবেক উপজেলা চেয়ারম্যান সৈয়দ আব্দুর রহমান বাশার, উপজেলা মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদের সাবেক কমান্ডার অধ্যাপক আব্দুর রশীদ, উপজেলা আওয়ামীলীগের সহ–সভাপতি মো. আসাদুজ্জামান মিন্টু, শাহ জাফর টেকনিক্যাল কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ মো. লিয়াকত হোসেন লিটন, শেখর ইউনিয়নের চেয়ারম্যান মো. ইস্রাফিল মোল্যা প্রমুখ।
