ময়মনসিংহের মুক্তাগাছায় শিশু সন্তানকে গলাকেটে হত্যা করল পাষণ্ড বাবা। শরীফ নামে ৫ মাস বয়সী শিশু সন্তানকে ধারালো ছুরি দিয়ে গলাকেটে হত্যা করা হয় এ সময় তার স্ত্রী সন্তানকে বাঁচাতে এগিয়ে এলে তাকেও কুপিয়ে গুরুতর আহত করে। পরে নিজে আত্মহত্যার চেষ্টা চালায় ঘাতক শাহজাহান। ঘটনাটি ঘটে বৃহস্পতিবার রাত ১০টার দিকে উপজেলার দাওগাঁও ইউনিয়নের চন্দনীআটা গ্রামে।অভিযুক্ত শাজাহান (২৬) উপজেলার চন্দনীআটা গ্রামের মৃত তমেজ আলীর ছেলে।
অভিযুক্ত শাহজাহানের মা জমেলা বেগম জানান, বৃহস্পতিবার বিকাল সোয়া ৫টার পর থেকে অস্বাভাবিক আচরণ করতে থাকে শাজাহান। কেউ তাকে খুন করতে আসছে’ এমন অস্বাভাবিক কথাবার্তা বলতে থাকে। এক পর্যায়ে রাত ১০টার দিকে স্ত্রী জেসমিন, শিশুপুত্র শরীফ, ভাগিনা শিমুল, শ্যালিকা আকলিমাসহ সবাইকে নিয়ে ঘরে ঢুকে ভেতর থেকে দরজা বন্ধ করে দেন। এরপর স্ত্রী জেসমিনের কাছ থেকে শিশুপুত্র শরিফকে ছিনিয়ে নিয়ে ধারাল ছুরি দিয়ে তার গলা কাটে। এতে ঘটনাস্থলে শিশুটির মৃত্যু হয়।
শিশুটিকে বাঁচানোর জন্য জেসমিন এগিয়ে আসলে তাকেও কুপিয়ে জখম করে এবং নিজের গলায় ছুরি চালিয়ে আত্মহত্যার চেষ্টা করে শাজাহান। মুক্তাগাছা থানার পুলিশ পরিদর্শক (তদন্ত) জাহাঙ্গীর আলম ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে জানান, নিহত শিশুর মরদেহ উদ্ধার করে ময়নাতদন্তের জন্য ময়মনসিংহ মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাঠানো হয়েছে।
