চট্টগ্রামের এক স্বর্ণ ব্যবসায়ীর কাছ থেকে ২০টি স্বর্ণবার নিয়ে তা আত্মসাতের অভিযোগে ফেনী জেলা পুলিশের গোয়েন্দা শাখার (ডিবি) পরিদর্শকসহ ছয় সদস্যকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। তাদের কাছ থেকে উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে ১৫টি স্বর্ণবার।
মঙ্গলবার(১০ আগষ্ট) ডিবির এসব সদস্যদের গ্রেপ্তার করে জেলা পুলিশ। তাদের বিরুদ্ধে ফেনী মডেল থানায় ডাকাতি মামলা করেছেন স্বর্ণ ব্যবসায়ী গোপাল কান্তি দাস।
গ্রেপ্তার ছয়জন হলেন ডিবির ওসি পরিদর্শক সাইফুল ইসলাম, উপপরিদর্শক (এসআই) মোতাহের হোসেন, মিজানুর রহমান ও নুরুল হক এবং সহকারী উপপরিদর্শক (এএসআই) অভিজিত বড়ুয়া ও মাসুদ রানা।
ফেনীর পুলিশ সুপার খন্দকার নুরুন্নবী জানান, রোববার বিকেলে চট্টগ্রাম থেকে ঢাকায় যাচ্ছিলেন স্বর্ণ ব্যবসায়ী গোপাল কান্তি। ফেনীর ফতেহপুর রেলক্রসিং এলাকায় পৌঁছালে ডিবি পুলিশের ওই সদস্যরা তার গাড়ি থামান। ওই সময় তার কাছে থাকা ২০টি স্বর্ণবার নিয়ে যান তারা।
তিনি আরও জানান, এ ঘটনার পর গোপাল কান্তি তার কাছে লিখিত অভিযোগ দেন। পরে চারজনকে শনাক্ত করে আটক করা হয়। তাদের দেয়া তথ্যে অন্য দুজনকে আটক করা হয়।
বাকি পাঁচটি স্বর্ণ বার উদ্ধারের চেষ্টা চলছে জানিয়ে এসপি বলেন, স্বর্ণবারগুলো বৈধ না অবৈধ তা তদন্ত করা হচ্ছে। তদন্ত শেষে বলা যাবে।
