মৌলভীবাজারে আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্প ও এতিমখানার এতিম শিশুদের জন্য কোরবানীর ব্যবস্থা করেছে জেলা প্রশাসন। পবিত্র ঈদুল-আযহার দিনে আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্পের বাসিন্দা, মেয়েদের কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র, ও সরকারি শিশু পরিবারের এতিম শিশুদের জন্য পশু কোরবানীর উদ্যোগ নেয় জেলা প্রশাসন। প্রথমবারের মতো আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্পে ঠাঁই পাওয়ারা নিজেদের মতো কোরবানী দেওয়া কোরবানীর মাংসের স্বাধ নিতে পেরে মহা খুশি।
আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্পের নতুন বাসিন্দারা বলেন, মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী আমাদের জমি সহ ঘর নির্মাণ করে দিয়েছেন, এবার জেলা প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে কোরবানীর ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। এখানে আসার আগে আমরা মানুষের বাড়ি থেকে হাত পেতে এনে কোরবানীর মাংস খেতাম। তাই প্রকল্পের বাসিন্দারা জেলা প্রশাসক ও উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসারের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়ে বলেন, প্রথমবারের মতো নিজেদের বাড়িতে কোরবানীর ব্যবস্থা করায় আমরা অনেক খুশি। এদিকে সরকারি শিশু পরিবারের এতিম শিশুরাও মহা আনন্দে ভোজন সেরেছেন কোরবানীর মাংস দিয়ে।
ঈদের দিন বুধবার (২১ জুলাই) সকালে জেলা প্রশাসন এর উদ্যোগে ও মৌলভীবাজার পৌরসভার সহযোগিতায় এতিম মেয়েদের কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র, মৌলভীবাজার এবং সরকারি শিশু পরিবার (বালিকা), শ্রীমঙ্গলে পশু কোরবানির ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। শ্রীমঙ্গল সরকারি শিশু পরিবার (বালিকা) এতিম শিশুদের সঙ্গে দুপুরের খাবারে শ্রীমঙ্গল উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার নজরুল ইসলাম অংশ গ্রহন করেন। এসময় সমাজ সেবা অধিদপ্তর মৌলভীবাজারের উপপরিচালক সহ জেলা প্রশাসনের অন্যান্য কর্মকর্তারাও ছিলেন।
জেলা প্রশাসক মীর নাহিদ আহসান জানান, জেলা প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে ও মৌলভীবাজার পৌরসভার সহযোগিতায় জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নামে পশু কোরবানী দেওয়া হয়। কোরবানীর মাংস আশ্রয়ন প্রকল্পের নতুন বাসিন্দা, মেয়েদের কারিগরি প্রশিক্ষণ কেন্দ্র ও শিশু পরিবারের এতিম শিশুদের জন্য বিতরণ করা হয়।
