প্রথম ধাপের ৩৭১টি ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ, ১১টি পৌরসভায় নির্বাচন ও লক্ষ্মীপুর-২ আসনে উপনির্বাচনের ভোটগ্রহণ করা হবে আগামী ২১ জুন।
বুধবার (২ জুন) রাজধানীর আগারগাঁওয়ে নির্বাচন ভবনে ভোটের তারিখ ঘোষণা করেন নির্বাচন কমিশন সচিব মো. হুমায়ুন কবীর খোন্দকার।
এর আগে ১১ এপ্রিল এসব নির্বাচনের ভোটগ্রহণের তারিখ নির্ধারণ ছিল। করোনা সংক্রমণ বৃদ্ধির কারণে গত ১ এপ্রিল থেকে সব ধরনের নির্বাচন স্থগিত করে কমিশন।
গত ৩ মার্চ দেশের ১১টি পৌরসভা ও ৩৭১টি ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের নির্বাচনের তফসিল ঘোষণা করে ইসি। একইসঙ্গে ফৌজদারি অপরাধে দণ্ডপ্রাপ্ত হয়ে সংসদ সদস্য পদ হারানো শহীদ ইসলাম পাপুলের লক্ষ্মীপুর-২ আসনের উপনির্বাচনের তফসিলও ঘোষণা করা হয়।
