নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলায় ফুটবল খেলার সময় মারধরের জেরে দু’পক্ষের সংঘর্ষে দেলোয়ার হোসেন (৩০) নামে এক ব্যক্তি নিহত হয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় আহত হয়েছেন আরও ১৪ জন। গুরুতর আহত অবস্থায় ৬ জনকে সিলেট পাঠানো হয়েছে। রবিবার (২৩ মে) রাত ১০টার দিকে নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলার দেবপাড়া ইউনিয়নের কালা বহরপুর গ্রামের বাজারে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। নিহত দেলোয়ার হোসেন ওই গ্রামের আব্দুস শহীদের ছেলে।
নবীগঞ্জ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোহাম্মদ ডালিম ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
পুলিশ ও স্থানীয়রা জানায়, গত শুক্রবার (২১ মে) বিকালে উপজেলার দেবপাড়া ইউনিয়নের কালা বহরপুর গ্রামের মাঠে ফুটবল খেলাকে কেন্দ্র করে ওই গ্রামের আব্দুস শহীদের ছেলে ও নিহত দেলোয়ারের ছোটভাই ইসলাম উদ্দিনের সঙ্গে একই গ্রামের আকল মিয়ার ছেলে নবেল মিয়ার হাতাহাতি হয়। এ ঘটনার জেরে গত দু’দিন ধরে এলাকায় উভয়পক্ষের লোকজনের মাঝে উত্তেজনা চলছিল।
রবিবার রাত ১০টার দিকে কালা বহরপুর গ্রামের বাজারে দু’পক্ষ সংঘর্ষে জড়িয়ে পড়ে। সংঘর্ষে উভয় পক্ষের ১৫ জন আহত হন। আহতদের মধ্যে দেলোয়ার ঘাড়ে ও মাথায় গুরুতর আঘাত পান। পরে স্থানীয়রা তাদের উদ্ধার করে নবীগঞ্জ উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে নিয়ে গেলে চিকিৎসকরা দেলোয়ারকে মৃত ঘোষণা করেন।
এ ঘটনায় গুরুতর আহত অবস্থায় কালাম মিয়া (৫০), আব্দুল হামিদ (৩৯), আব্দুল বাসিত (৪৫), রিপন মিয়া (৩৫), আব্দুল মমিন (৩১) ও সুমন মিয়াকে (২২) সিলেট এমএজি ওসমানী মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পাঠানো হয়েছে। এ ব্যাপারে মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি চলছে। খবর পেয়ে নবীগঞ্জ থানার একদল পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল পরিদর্শন করেছে।
