মোঃ মেহেদী হাসান, পঞ্চগড় প্রতিনিধি: পঞ্চগড়ে পঞ্চমবারের মতো আরো একটি বিরল প্রজাতির রেড কোরাল কুকরি সাপ উদ্ধার করে হয়েছে।সাপটি উদ্ধার করেছেন পঞ্চগড় জেলার বোদা উপজেলার ঝলই শালশিরি ইউনিয়ন এলাকার কালিয়াগঞ্জ মোটাপাড়ার রাস্তায়। কৌশল অবলম্বন করে (১৬ মে) রাতে জীবিত সাপটি আটক করেছেন এলাকাবাসী।পরে তাদের কাছে থেকে বন্য প্রাণী সংরক্ষক ও উদ্ধারকারী সহিদুল ইসলাম (বিএসএস) উদ্ধার করেন।
(সোমবার,১৭ মে)বন্য প্রাণী সংরক্ষক ও উদ্ধারকারী সহিদুল ইসলাম (বিএসএস) তিনি বলেন,স্থানীয় লোকজন সাপটিকে দেখতে পেয়ে না মেরে কৌশলে আটক করে এবং আমাকে খবর দেন। খবর পেয়ে দ্রুত সেখানে গিয়ে সাপটিকে উদ্ধার করি। এরই মধ্যে এই সাপটি বাংলাদেশে রেকর্ডসহ আন্তর্জাতিক গবেষণা পত্রে প্রকাশ পেয়েছেন। মানুষ এখন মোটামুটি ভাবে সচেতন হয়েছেন। সাপ দেখলে না মেরে উদ্ধারকারীকে ফোন দিচ্ছে।
জানা যায়,রেড কোরাল কুকরি বিরল প্রজাতির একটি সাপ। উজ্জ্বল কমলা ও প্রবাল লাল বর্ণের এই প্রজাতিটি সাপটি।তবে সারা বিশ্বে এপর্যন্ত ২০-২২ বার দেখা মিলেছে রেড কোরাল কুকরি। হিমালয় অঞ্চলে এর আবাস্থল হলেও পঞ্চগড়ে দেখা মিলল পঞ্চমবারের মতো।
