মোঃশাহীন আলম লালমনিরহাট প্রতিনিধিঃ লালমনিরহাটের হাতীবান্ধা উপজেলার গড্ডিমারী ইউনিয়নে জমিকে কেন্দ্র করে সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় শহর উদ্দিন (২৭) নামে আরও এক যুবকের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। শুক্রবার দুপুরে রংপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ ও হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় তার মৃত্যু হয়। এ নিয়ে গত সোমবারের জমি নিয়ে ওই সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় দুই জনের মৃত্যু হলো।
এ সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় এর আগে বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে পিপাস বাবু (২১) নামে একজনের মৃত্যু হয়। মৃত শহর উদ্দিন ওই ইউনিয়নের নিজ গড্ডিমারী গ্রামের সাহাবুদ্দিনের পুত্র বলে জানা গেছে।
হাতীবান্ধা থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) এরশাদুল আলম এ ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
জানা গেছে, গত সোমবার ওই এলাকায় জমি সংক্রান্ত বিরোধের জেরে সোহরাব আলী ও দুলাল হোসেন নামে ২ ব্যক্তির লোকজনের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষ হয়। ওই সংঘর্ষে উভয় পক্ষের ৮ জন আহত হন।
তাদের মধ্যে সোহরাব আলী পক্ষের পিপাস বাবু ও দুলাল হোসেন পক্ষের শহর উদ্দিন নামে দুই জনের অবস্থা গুরুতর হওয়ায় প্রথমে হাতীবান্ধা হাসপাতাল পরে রংপুর মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। সেখানে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় শুক্রবার দুপুরে শহর উদ্দিনের মৃত্যু ঘটে। এর আগে ওই হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধিন অবস্থায় বৃহস্পতিবার সকালে পিপাস বাবুর মৃত্যু হয়।
