জরুরি প্রয়োজনে করোনাভাইরাসের টিকা পেতে চীনের উদ্যোগে ‘ইমার্জেন্সি ভ্যাকসিন স্টোরেজ ফ্যাসিলিটি ফর কোভিড ফর সাউথ এশিয়া’ নামের প্ল্যাটফর্মে যোগ দিচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ।
মঙ্গলবার এশিয়ার ৬ দেশের ভার্চুয়াল বৈঠক শেষে এক ব্রিফিংয়ে সাংবাদিকদের এ তথ্য জানান পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ড. এ কে আব্দুল মোমেন এ তথ্য জানান।
পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী বলেন, ‘বৈঠকে টিকা নিয়ে কথা হয়েছে। আমাদের স্টেটমেন্টে বলেছি, যেখান থেকে পাই আমরা ভ্যাকসিন নিয়ে আসব। মানুষের মঙ্গলের জন্যে যা যা প্রয়োজন সব বহুজাতিক উদ্যোগের সঙ্গে থাকবে বাংলাদেশ।’
করোনাভাইরাস প্রতিরোধী টিকার প্রাপ্যতা ও চলমান সংকট মোকাবেলায় চীন, পাকিস্তান ও বাংলাদেশসহ দক্ষিণ এশিয়ার ৬ পররাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী ওই জরুরি বৈঠকে যোগ দেন।
