আজ রবিবার (১৯ সেপ্টেম্বর) সন্ধ্যা ছয়টা থেকে শুরু হচ্ছে সিএনজি স্টেশনে গ্যাস রেশনিং। পিক আওয়ারে বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনে গ্যাস সরবরাহ বাড়াতে প্রতিদিন সন্ধ্যা ৬টা থেকে রাত ১০টা পর্যন্ত সিএনজি স্টেশন বন্ধ রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে সরকার।
কোনও সিএনজি স্টেশন আদেশ অমান্য করলে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে গ্যাস আইন-২০১০ অনুযায়ী ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। ইতোমধ্যে গ্যাস বিতরণ কোম্পানিগুলো ভিজিলেন্স টিম গঠন করেছে। আজ থেকেই তারা মাঠে থাকবে।

আন্তর্জাতিক বাজারে এলএনজির দাম বেড়ে যাওয়ায় সরকার স্পট মার্কেট থেকে এলএনজি আমদানি কমিয়ে দিয়েছে। তবে দেশে গ্যাস ঘাটতি বাড়তে থাকায় চলতি মাসের শেষে আরও তিন কার্গো এলএনজি আনার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে সরকার। ওই সময় ঘাটতি পুরোপুরি না মিটলেও পরিস্থিতির কিছুটা উন্নতি হবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে৷
